WHO WE ARE

In 2022, Professor Jeannine Heckmann started reaching out to colleagues in Africa regarding the unmet need of ALS patients living in different African geographies, with the goal of starting an ALSAfrica Network to support each other in changing the African ALS/MND landscape. We now have four academic sites spanning Sub-Saharan Africa and hope to expand this collaboration further in the near future.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT

To improve patient care for Africans living with ALS/MND by building clinical, research, and support infrastructure.
